Dog Portraits Lake District

Many of us own dogs, I have had my Westie for ten years now, she means the world to me and as such I have many, many beautiful images of her. She won’t be with me forever but when she has gone I have some wonderful memories of her, never to be forgotton.

Often at Children’s shoots the family also own a dog and I will always endeavour to capture some images of the pet, just as I would the children, really trying to capture the personality of the pooch, as all dog owners know they each have their own quirks…..

This got me thinking, its normally quite dangerous when I start thinking but stay with me on this one….

As anyone who knows me and my thoughts on photography, I specialise in people and social photography, this is where my training and experience lie and won’t ever declare myself as an expert in other fields, because I am not, commercial interiors, architecture, food, landscapes, studio = YUK !

So, what am I thinking, well, I will be adding some doggie snapping to my existing Wedding and Portrait work, now before you think “he does Weddings aaaaaaaannnnnnd Dogs” I have actually photographed a dog, at a Wedding, in the church – you see he was a massive part of the family and not fair to not include him in one of the families most exciting days ever, so it does all work together for me in the grand scheme of things !

Right now this service will only be available for our canine friends, I seem to have a rapport with dogs. Cats, well they just lull me into a false sense of security with their cuteness and then – Wham, they have their claws in your skin, so no cats for the time being !

There will be a distinct structure to the shoot and guidelines will be issued once a booking is confirmed. A booking will be £150 for a session (within 30 miles of LA9) and this will be redeemable upon a set product purchase level, just like a portrait shoot. Shoots will take place on location, normally starting out at the family home. 2 hours will be allotted to the shoot but as ever I will not be watching the clock. Framed images of your dog will last a lifetime, all Ian Wood Photography’s products are bespoke, so anything is possible.

Bookings are now been taken, midweek bookings available, as are evenings now the nights are drawing out.

Feel free to call me on 01539 738846 0r 07968 791 584, or drop an email to ian@ianwoodphotography.com if you would like to discuss arranging a shoot for your canine friend.
