Saturday 2nd June 2012,
Nathalie and Rob were married in the Lake District by the Revd David Wilmot at Jesus Church Troutbeck followed by their wedding reception and wedding photographs at the Low Wood Bay resort on the shores of Lake Windermere.
A great view from the Low Wood Bay overlooking Lake Windermere and the Langdales, I always think that there is something incredibly special about watching the mist burn off to reveal the Langdales. It was going to be a great day, well of course it was going to be a great day but it was going to be lovely weather for a great day, as Billy Idol once sang………………
Much laughter and fun was had in the morning and soon the time had come for me to depart to Troutbeck, lots of guests had already gathered and were milling around and slowly entering the church in anticipation of Nathalie’s arrival.
Nat arrived in a gorgeous vintage Rolls Royce and she looked stunning, beaming from ear to ear, it was real, it was time to marry Rob!
It was a lovely service and I spent most of it on the balcony overlooking the aisles with a great view down to the alter, wow it was warm up there in the eaves though – Rob and Nathalie became man and wife and Rob punched the air, what a lovely moment!
Our Bride and Groom and wedding party departed back to the Low Wood and I nipped over the hill via the direct route, got parked and managed to get back to the front of the hotel just in time for their arrival.
Once everyone was furnished with a glass of fizz we set about taking a few formal group shots, taken informallyits always really lovely to see everyone having such a great time – haha, I love my job!
Once seated David our MC from the Low Wood announced the speeches, all really were from the heart, brilliant, lots of happy tears and of course memories of those that could not be there at the wedding.
I left the wedding party to eat and went to rest my feet, take on some fluids – I had been looking forward, as always to the mighty Low Wood Burger only to be hit with the most devastating news that the most awesome burger meal on the planet had been bumped to the evening menu – I had to settle for a BLT baguette, it was still fab though!
Following dinner I grabbed Nat and Rob and took them out to a little headland on the lake shore for some images just of them with the backdrop of the Lakes, these took no time at all but adding a subtle bit of light really makes them stand out and will hopefully make the album!
OK, back to the hotel and preparations were well underway for the evening’s proceedings. You may remember seeing Nat and Rob on this blog when I took the images for their pre-wedding photoshoot, Rob had his guitar with him, Rob is in band!
I had been told to be prepared for both Girth and also Length – I was a little frightened……………..
Ahhhh – it seems the band, or bands, or jamming session or – well not sure who was in which band but the were all bloody good, one band was called Girth and when either a member was added or taken away, or substituted ???? it then transformed into Length! (Perhaps one of you can comment and confirm all this, haha)
What can I say a brilliant night and the Groom being the lead guitar and vocalist is THE most cunning ‘Keep everyone on the dance floor’ technique I have ever seen at a wedding
A great day had by all – wishing you all the very best for your future together.
